Airpod - Reusable and Durable

Patient Lateral Transfer and Repositioning Air Mattress

Technically, The Most Advanced Patient “Air” Lateral Transfer & Repositioning System In The World

AIRPODS

The Airpods in the Airpod Air Mattress provide many of the Unique Features of the Airpod Air Mattress.

There are 34 Airpods in a Standard Size Airpod Air Mattress and 44 in the Bariatric Size.

In the simplest term, each Airpod acts as Collection, Storage and Explusion Chamber. The Air blown into the Airpod is made to travel into the Airpod (Collection) and it stays there (Storage) until it is required (Expulsion). It is the expulsion of the Air through the perforations that provides for the Friction Reducing Properties.

So how do the Airpods know which Pods need more Air? Is there is a form of communication between the Airpods and how does it work?

The explanation needs a little of bit of understanding and we can outline the explanation as follows:

Not everybody is of the same size, weight, weight distribution, height, etc. Some patients may be “Top” Heavy – some maybe heavier in the middle. With Amputees, some may be single, others double, some may have an arm amputated and with others it may be the leg and in some cases both.

So the weight distribution for each patient will be different. The greatest amount of air will be required where the patient is the heaviest. Once the Airpods have been activated (filled with Air at full power from the Air Blower), the amount of air being blown into the ATM-Airpod can be reduced.

NB.: The amount of reduction will be dependent on the overall weight of the patient and on the type of surface that the transfer is being conducted.

For example, for the average size of patient, the Air Blower Power can be reduced by 50%. This reduction will allow the Airpods to “communicate” with each other in such a way that the Air will be directed to the parts of the Mattress that has to lift  and keep inflated - the heaviest  load, that is where the patient is the heaviest.

And because the Airpods act as Storage Containers, where the Patient's weight is the lowest (for example at the Head), the amount of Air Discharged will be minimal and the Airpods will store the Air longer. The result is that less Air will be directed there.

So essentially the Airpods are working to a point of equilibrium whereby the Patient's weight is supported equally across the whole of the surface – that is the Patient's Weight is evenly spread and distributed across the whole surface. And in this fashion and manner, the ATM-Airpod takes all sizes and shapes into consideration.

No other Patient Lateral Transfer and Repositioning Air Mattress in the World is capable of doing this.
