Precise Design, Engineering and Fabrication

HF (High Frequency) Welding requires very Precise Design, Engineering and Fabrication.


The ATM-Airpod is constructed entirely by HF WELDING. As such, the ATM-Airpod is HERMATICALLY SEALED - that is the construction is so tightly or perfectly fitting so as to exclude the passage of air.


Sometimes HF Welding is confused with Heat Sealing. This is not the same.


HF (High Frequency) Welding is the process by which Electromagnetic Energy (EE) is used to permanently bond thermoplastic materials together. This is different from other processes as the desired result is a hermetic cohesive bond between the polymers.


The HF Welded Bond is very different from the type of bond and seal created by an External Electric or Radiation Heat Source known as Heat Seal.


External heating requires penetration of the outer fabric/material layer in order to heat the inner layer - the core - of the fabric/material. This is the major disadvantage with Heat Seal because the resultant bond is non linear and patchy and therefore much weaker than the bond created by HF Welding.


Currently, the ATM-Airpod is the only 100% HF Welded Air Mattress in the World

Strong, Durable, Clean Bonded Construction and Fabrication


The Perimeter Edge of the Airpod Air Mattress is Double Sealed and HF Welded. This comibinaiton provides for a very strong Bond. This is equivalent to 2 x (400N / 50 mm) or 2 x (400N / 2 Inches).


The Straps and Handles are HF Welded and ReinforcedThis comibination of the HF Welding with additional reinforcement, provides for a very strong and durable bond. The Burst Strength at any one of the Handles and Straps is in excess of 100 Kg (220 Lbs) for straight Pull/Push Forces and in excess of 55 Kg (121 Lbs) at any angle on the perpendicular.
